Acquired by Ahold in 1974, Etos is a leading health and beauty care retailer in The Netherlands, offering customers a wide selection of quality health and beauty, body care, and baby care products at affordable prices, and friendly, knowledgeable service.

In 2009, Etos was awarded both Best Drugstore, for the second year in a row, and Best Drugstore Chain in the Netherlands. During the year, the company focused on improving its price perception to enhance its positioning in the market.

In 2010, customers voted Etos one of the most customer-friendly companies- and the most customer-friendly drugstore- in the Netherlands.

Around 50% of Etos stores are wholly owned, the rest operating as franchises.
