The award was made based on combined donations and corporate gifts made by employee during the 2008 campaign. Stacey Silliman, Communications Manager and United Way Campaign Chair for Giant-Carlisle, accepted the award on behalf of the company. Additionally, Giant received another award during the United Way of the Capital Region's Annual Dinner, which followed the Pillar Society. This award was given to Giant Food Stores for campaign excellence.
