In 2009, Stop & Shop/Giant-Landover's goal is to raise $5.25 million for The Jimmy Fund, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, The Children’s Cancer Foundation and Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. The company is again partnering with the Boston Red Sox and the Baltimore Orioles and – for the first time – the New York Yankees to bring awareness to this important cause.

"Triple Winner is one of the ways in which we help fulfill our promise to be a reliable partner in our communities," said President and CEO Carl Schlicker. "This program is so important to our company because it actually saves lives as we provide valuable funding to our partner organizations so that they can continue their efforts to conquer pediatric cancer."

The Triple Winner Game is a scratch card promotion in which every ticket can be an instant winner of either a free product, a gift card or cash prize up to $10,000, or a customer could receive a product coupon. The program, which runs until July 9, allows customers who make a $1 donation in any store to receive a Triple Winner Game ticket.

"Each year, our stores and offices outdo themselves by coming up with creative ways to move tickets and raise money," said Carl. "Our stores host Edy’s Ice Cream sales, hot dog cookouts, raffles, car washes, photo contests and more in an effort to move the most tickets. I’m looking forward to seeing the creative fundraising ideas our associates will come up with this year."
