This ham donation is part of Giant and Martin’s Food Markets’ “Living Here, Giving Here” charitable giving program.
“We know that there are too many families who are struggling right now. As a food retailer, the fight against hunger is an effort in which we can and must help,” said Sander van der Laan, president and CEO.
Eighteen food and hunger organizations will distribute Giant and Martin’s donation of nearly 10,000 hams to families within their communities in time for the Easter holiday. In addition, some food banks are kicking off food drives in their own region to encourage other community members and companies to help local families in need this spring.
