Albert / Hypernova continues to remodel its stores, aims to increase sales effectiveness.
After the remodelling of Hypernova stores in Komárno and Rimavská Sobota, others will follow suit in response to changing customer demands. The stores will be smaller, their offer will focus on customer-attractive goods, e.g. seasonal non-food goods, fresh and dried foods, and specialties. Customers can look forward to finding their favourite goods at best prices, as well as to fast and simple orientation in the store, together with other novelties that will help to improve the shopping experience. The goal of these changes is to offer an attractive assortment in smaller stores.
2nd remodelling stage
The first to change were the stores in Komárno and Rimavská Sobota. Ahold started remodelling them at the end of April and finished in mid-July. Floor space of both stores decreased by approximately 1,000 m2, i.e. roughly by one third. “Both stores were remodelled during opening hours, with only minimum restrictions for customers. The stores did not close for a single day,” said Diana Chovancová Stanková, spokesperson for Albert/Hypernova. The areas that was freed up now features the JYSK furniture and accessories stores, thus complementing products that the customers will not find in Hypernova stores.
Recently the Hypernova stores in Poprad and Trenčín were remodelled, too. They were not decreased in size, as they are located in shopping centers and their floor space is of a standard size.
As of today, remodelling is under way in stores in Spišská Nová Ves, Považská Bystrica, Michalovce and Pezinok. “This remodelling will decrease floor space, by which we intend to obtain a standard store size of approximately 2,500 m2. At the same time, our Hypernova stores will be more modern and better organised, with many new marketing elements,” informed Diana Chovancová Stanková.
Attractive goods, better organisation, lower energy consumption
The new structure will create more floor space for fresh and dried foods and specialties, in which the customers currently show greater interest. New lighting and cooling with lower energy consumption will be installed, too. Remodelling will also introduce new price labels and division of sections by colours, which aims at better customer orientation while shopping. Among other novelties is the visually separate drugstore section.
The freed-up space will be gradually occupied by stores of the German company Kik, which sells textiles. During the coming months, Hypernova stores in the towns of Zvolen and Bardejov will also be remodelled. The goal of these changes is to offer an attractive assortment in smaller stores. Ahold
