Amsterdam, The Netherlands - Ahold and the Stedelijk Museum have agreed to enter a three-year sponsorship agreement. Dutch-based Ahold, which operates supermarket companies in Europe and the United States, will be supporting the museum’s relaunch and future exhibitions.
Gijs van Tuyl, director of the Stedelijk Museum said today “We are delighted that Ahold has decided to support the Stedelijk Museum. It is good to see that in the current climate there are companies like Ahold keen to enter into sponsorship agreements to support the arts in the Netherlands. This gives me confidence that other companies will recognize the importance of supporting the Stedelijk as we move closer to our reopening.”
Peter Wakkie, Ahold’s Chief General Counsel and Member of the Corporate Executive Board, added “Ahold is proud to be sponsoring the Stedelijk Museum which has such a great reputation in the Netherlands and abroad. We are committed to supporting the communities we serve and we look forward to further strengthening our ties with the city of Amsterdam and contributing to the future success of the Stedelijk.”
