Springfield, PA – July 27, 2010 - GIANT Food Stores today announced that the doors of its new Springfield store, located within the Springfield Shopping Center at 721 W. Sproul Road, will open on Wednesday, August 4 at 8:00 a.m. Barbara Taylor has been appointed store manager of the new 66,000 square foot GIANT, which will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Taylor is a fifteen-year veteran with GIANT Food Stores, having most recently served as store manager of the West Chester GIANT. Taylor lives with her family in Aston, PA. The Springfield store, Delaware County’s sixth GIANT will add approximately 230 full and part-time associates. Currently GIANT employs 750 full and part-time associates at its five Delaware County stores.
