The Corporate Executive Board of Royal Ahold, the international food retail and foodservice company, has appointed Thijs Smit Senior Vice President Internal Audit, effective April 1, 2001.
Zaandam, The Netherlands, April 11, 2001 The Corporate Executive Board of Royal Ahold, the international food retail and foodservice company, has appointed Thijs Smit Senior Vice President Internal Audit, effective April 1, 2001. Smit has been working for the Internal Audit department since August 2000. Prior to his new position, he was employed in senior management positions at Corus and KPN, among others. Smit succeeds Paul Ekelschot, who has been appointed Senior Vice President Financial Services, effective April 1, 2001.
Frank Rijksen has been appointed Chief Financial Officer, Ahold Polska, effective April 24, 2001. Rijksen currently is CFO at Etos Group in The Netherlands. In his new function he reports to Jacquot Boelen, CEO Ahold Polska. Sjoerd Schaafsma succeeds Rijksen at Etos Group, effective April 23, 2001. He is currently Corporate Controller for Latin America. In his new position Schaafsma reports to John van der Ent, CEO Etos Group.
