March 15, 2006 - Jan van Dam will take up the position within the Albert Heijn Arena of General Manager of Gall & Gall as of April 2006. In May 2006 he will be succeeded by Ed van de Weerd as Unit Manager of Non Perishables.
Van Dam (34) started with Ahold in 1991 as a Management Trainee. After working within Albert Heijn as Manager Direct Marketing, Category Manager of Non Food and Promotions Manager, Van Dam took up his current position of Unit Manager Non Perishables. Van Dam succeeds Wouter Kolk at Gall & Gall, who has been appointed General Manager of Etos.
Ed van de Weerd (36) will begin work within Albert Heijn in May 2006 as Unit Manager Non Perishables. Since 2000 Van de Weerd has worked for Vodafone, and is currently based in London. Before this he worked for Proctor & Gamble, where Albert Heijn was part of his portfolio.
