Wouter Kolk has been appointed within the Albert Heijn Arena as General Manager of Etos, as of April 3, 2006. He succeeds Maarten Dorhout Mees, who has decided to leave the organization.
Kolk (39) started with Ahold in 1991 as a Management Trainee. He worked in several commercial and operational positions within Albert Heijn and by the end of the 1990s he was working for Ahold in Asia. In 2003, he transferred from the Albert Heijn store organization to Ahold Group Support Office and was subsequently appointed to his current function as General Manager of Gall & Gall in April 2005. For the past year Kolk has been working on the repositioning of the brand, and on further growth of the formula. Kolk will be succeeded at Gall & Gall by Jan van Dam. In his new position at Etos Kolk will continue to build upon the strategy that has been developed there, and will also drive its implementation. In addition he will focus attention on continued growth at Etos.
