For Managers - The Ahold Retail Academy

The Ahold Retail Academy is designed to raise the strategic knowledge levels and leadership capabilities of its participants. The Academy aims to develop strategic thinking within a 'One Ahold' company and broaden opportunities through exposure to a wider diversity in people, knowledge and best practices.

The program has been developed in close cooperation with Cornell University in the United States. The 10-day program is offered once a year alternately at Cornell University in the U.S. and at a venue in The Netherlands. These countries represent the company's two home markets. Participants will be drawn from all arenas where Ahold is active and represent the food retail channel in which we operate.

The teaching staff will consist of professors from Cornell's Food Industry Management Program and, prominent industry consultants and a number of senior Ahold executives. All instructors are selected on the basis of their expertise in food retail and management methods as well as on their experience and effectiveness with overall business management and communication.
