Working with its vendor partners, Stop & Shop is contributing $1 million to an endowment fund that will leave a lasting legacy in the communities served by Stop & Shop and Giant Food.
The success of the Stop & Shop Family Foundation Golf classic is due in large part to the partnership between Stop & Shop and the Deutsche Bank Championship. Fenway Sports Group worked closely with Stop & Shop to a marketing platform that leveraged the popularity of the PGA TOUR and the Deutsche Bank Championship.
Started in 2003, the Stop & Shop Family Foundation was created to support programs in the areas served by the Stop & Shop Supermarket Company. In 2004 the first Golf Classic raised over $400,000 and the second raised $716,000 in 2005. This year’s classic will deposit $1 million into an endowment fund that when complete, will support athletic and educational programs for youths in all areas served by The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company and Giant Food.
