Giant-Carlisle once again joined forces with their customers, associates and vendors to support the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) with two annual events, which raised a combined $1.75 million to support local children’s hospitals in their operating areas in providing medical care for special children.
“Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our customers, vendors and associates, we were able to make our highest donation to date to help children in our communities who need it most,” said Denny Hopkins, vice president, advertising and marketing. “It is because of this support that our local children’s hospitals are able to provide the best medical attention and care to our youngest patients.”
Giant and Martin’s customers could show their support for CMN with a $1.00 donation to purchase a paper balloon at the checkout June 15 through June 28. This year, customers helped to raise a total of $470,514 through the annual in-store campaign. O
n July 21, Giant hosted its Our Kids golf outing with more than 1,700 participating associates and vendors at 12 golf courses in Pennsylvania. Proceeds from this year’s event totaled $1.28 million. Since its official inception in 1988, Giant and Martin’s have raised $17 million through Our Kids events in support of the Children’s Miracle Network.
Children’s Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children’s hospitals across North America. Each year the 170 Children’s Miracle Network hospitals provide the finest medical care, life-saving research and preventative education to help millions of kids overcome diseases and injuries of every kind.
